SINOPSIS / SYNOPSIS
 

ESPAÑOL

Un cortometraje dibujado a mano por la veterana ilustradora Marta Guerrero.
Refleja su mundo imaginario, que lleva al espectador a un viaje a través de los elementos de la naturaleza.

Tras pasar largo tiempo encerrado en su torre en búsqueda del conocimiento, el Mago llega a un acantilado dónde manipula antiguos símbolos en un ritual mágico, con el que acaba fusionándose corporalmente en un búho.
Unidos, viajan por los cuatro elementos de la naturaleza: fuego, tierra, agua y aire, transformándose en llamas, libélula, pez y huracán. Hacen un recorrido por mundos fantásticos llenos de seres mágicos, hasta acabar en la mente de una niña sentada en las escaleras de una portal en medio de la civilización. La mirada del mago en la niña se funde con el cosmos.

A short film drawn by hand by veteran illustrator Marta Guerrero.
It reflects his imaginary world, which takes the viewer on a journey through the elements of nature.

After spending a long time locked inside his tower in the search of knowledge, the Wizard arrives to a cliff to manipulate ancient symbols in a magic ritual which ends merging his body with an owl. United, they travel through the four elements of nature: fire, earth, water and air, becoming flames, a dragonfly, a fish and a hurricane. After journey through fantastic worlds filled with magical beings they end up in the mind of a girl sitting on a stop in the middle of a busy city. The look of the wizard merges with the cosmos through the girl’s eyes.

Marta Guerrero. Madrid, 1965. Estudió en la Escuela de Artes y Oficios, combinando estos estudios con el teatro y la música, en aquellos años ochenta la ciudad era un hervidero de creatividad y participaba activamente en un sinfín de actividades artísticas de todo tipo. El cortometraje “El Mago” (2017) es su primera producción cinematográfica como directora y guionista. Una obra que culmina su trabajo como dibujante que ha ido elaborando durante muchos años, donde forma un mundo de ensueño de fantasía y reflexiones sobre la vida real, la vida de fantasía y la muerte.

Marta Guerrero. Madrid, 1965. She was born in Madrid, studied at the School of Arts and Crafts and combining these studies with theater and music.At that time, beginning the eighties, the city was a hive of creativity and actively participated in an endless number of artistic activities of all kinds. The short film “The Wizard” (“El Mago”) (2017) is her first cinematographic production as director and screenwriter. A work that culminates his work as a draftsman who has been elaborating for many years, where he forms a dream world of fantasy and reflections on real life, fantasy life and death.
